Warmth and Compassion

Developing compassion for yourself and others is a wonderful skill. Therapy provides new self awareness and ability to regulate and calm your own nervous system so that you can be more compassionate with yourself and a warmer and more compassionate partner.

Therapy brings a gentle searching into the patterns that cause you pain and some methods of confronting and supporting the inner critic to be more gentle.

Trauma sensitive

Trauma informed therapy is a lens though which the therapist sees the experiences of the client. Trauma will influence the way we respond emotionally, psychologically and physically to the world. It will change the way we manage and regulate ourselves.

Therapy uses concepts of neurobiology to help people understand how trauma affects them and how to heal and thrive. 

Being aware of the past and mindful of the present.

Our development from conception will influence how our brains and bodies form. Searching for insight about these influences can be really helpful. However, human memory is negatively biased, we remember the bad stuff because it helps us stay safe and we forget the good stuff because its not so useful for our survival. So staying in the present moment, in a mindful and peaceful state is brilliant for our mental health.
